ibeen married 12 years and got 4 kids under 11.Im 33, my wife is 30. I worked our whole marriage while she took care of the kids and she was very dedicated to me and kids.She got a job, i had no problems with it, I encouraged it because thats what she wanted.everything seemed fine for first three months or so then i started to notice changes in her behavior but just figured it was job stress or whatever and i asked her what was wrong but she never said anything about us or lack of.I always trusted her 100%and never thought of lying about anything. She was very devoted to her christian ways and made sure the kids were too.She started really focusing on her looks more-diet pill-tanning bed-more expensive clothes for work.She started spending more money and using more credit than what we could afford.She told me of plans for day she was gonna go out and eat, shop watch a movie with her girlfriend from work just to destress alittle.I didnt think nothin of it untill i hadnt heard from her day until i texted her at 2am and she said she didnt even go anywhere she just stayed at her friends and sat around and she was comin home right then and she did come home soon after. I knew somethin wasnt right after that and i noticed she wasnt ever layin her phone down and she constantly textin. For the next week or so she was workin later and when she got home she would be bitter and just couldnt wait to get away so she could text on her phone.I confronted her told her i knew somethin was up and she spit out seperation cause she was unhappy and wanted more from life than this and she didnt have nobody or anything like that.I told her i wanted to see her phone right now cause i knew she was lyin and of coarse she wouldnt hand it over and i stayed on her about it till she confessed she cheated with somebody once and she ended it.I told her we could work thru this and not throw all this away but she said she just needed time.I was really scared of losin her and the kids. I knew she was hidin something so i got the phone records and found she had been texting a 17 yr old kid she was working with for weeks before and still was weeks after we seperated.I have the kids almost all the time,Shes stays at her grandmas she didnt pay all the bills like she said she would. She tells the kids blatent lies to avoid coming and getting them on the days she said she would. My 9 and 11 yr old thinks she dont want them and they know shes lying and i cant say anything to defend her because she makes it to blatent of a lie.She threatens to get full custody when i tell her that she doing wrong or i dont give her what she wants but yet she does nothing to move the divorce along.Ive took control of the bills and my money and im not giving her anything.Im filing for divorce next week and really kills me that i know i have to try for full custody because she was such a good mom before and i just wish i seen some hope she was gonna quit hurting them but i aint seeing it. Im not worried about me and her because theres no way i could trust her again even if her intentions were true.

I wish I had advice for you. I seek it myself. Very similar situation. I was married for 17 years,perfect life with all the trimmings. Me and our kids were abandoned for my wife’s first love of 31 years ago,she was 15,now 46 and had not seen this person in 31 years! Met him on Facebook and gone without a word. All this after my sister did the same thing over a year ago. My wife condemned and said,”How could she!” Devastated,Shock!! Been four months and I am still kind of numb. Thank God I have my kids. I wish you and anyone else that has gone through this pain,All the best! I truly would not wish this pain on anybody!!

Focus on your children and yourself. Don’t waste time, effort or money on her. Fate will catch up with her in the end.

I’m really sorry that you have to go through this. I don’t understand why some people seem to need to be unfaithful and lie about it.

Though I usually think hiring a PI is a waste of money, I would in this case. He should get proof of her actions, as I’m assuming you’ll want to try to get custody of your minor children. This woman is no mother.

My opinion is that, in this marriage, the trust has been irrevocably broken, and you can never get it back. Sadly, I suggest that you leave her to her own devices and move on.

My father used to judge divorce cases, and he told me that the worst tragedy of divorce is when the parents drag their kids into it. I would follow the advice above, do not do that to your kids.
