You are right it is easy to get lazy in marriage, you have to keep up good communication and never take each other for granted.

If there is only one person making all the effort it will not work it takes both partners to achieve on good communication.

That seems to be the key, yes… it can’t just be one sided and just one of the partners wanting the trust and honesty. It needs to be not 50% from each, but *100%* from each.

Everyone is different, but I think the way to make marriage work is to have good communication, to make time for each other and to have honesty/trust between you. All of this takes effort from both partners.
