It doesn’t matter what season it is, it is not very cool to be wearing your ex’s ring on your necklace like a pendant, or wearing your old engagement ring / wedding ring on the other hand.
Just check out past celebrity break-ups like Jennifer Lopez and her big nest egg of an engagement ring from Ben Affleck. In today …. out tomorrow …. and if she had any sense whatsoever, she would have said “see you later” to her cheating ex bling and traded it in for cash.
Maybe she might not need the extra moolah, but to us mere mortals that try to scrimp and save our way into a better financial future, every single penny counts.
So, if your stack of ex jewelry is stacking up like this at home - - -

Cash For Gold - The Sensible Way To Get Rid of Your Ex Jewelry…
Ex-boyfriend jewelry is so not in fashion.
It doesn’t matter what season it is, it is not very cool to be wearing your ex’s ring on your necklace like a pendant, or wearing your old engagement ring / wedding ring on the other hand.
Just check o…
Years ago, I had a ring from an ex that I didn’t want to wear, so I went to a jeweler and had the piece re-designed. I traded out the gold for silver, chose a new configuration for the ring and its setting, and ended up with a great pinky ring!
Sage, I had never thought of doing that, was it very expensive to have the ring redesigned?
Cost depends on many factors. Shopping around and getting ideas about the possibilities is always the best, first step.
Something else to consider….
Redesigning the piece can be a subtle, symbolic form of revenge.
Thanks for the information. I am not after revenge, I inherited a ring that I can’t wear in it’s present form, but I don’t want to part with it so redesign would be the ideal option.
Sounds good, it won’t be beneficial for me since I don’t wear much jewelry. I will keep in it mind though.
Whew! Thanks for the tips on selling the ex jewelery! Now, I know that I can make something out of a broken relationships. Cash, cash and more cash!
I’ve had rings redesigned from ’scrap’ gold as well. In fact, my wedding ring was actually made from gold from a ring that my Mom had sitting in her jewellery box which no-one liked. Recycle, recycle!!
LOL…I LOVE it. This is definitely something us “ex’s” should definitely consider. At least our ex-lovers are good for something!
