Imaginary Diva, I think you are right people cheat because their libido and emotions take over and they put their desires first. It has always happened but perhaps we talk about it more now. I don’t think it has much to do with financial status.

Liza, I don’t agree with that either. Women (and men) cheat because their libido and emotions go overdrive. I don’t think it has anything to do with their financial status.

I think the common denominator when it comes to cheating, is the denial of what nature intends. The greater the denial, the more you see other behaviors, like spousal abuse.

When a system that keeps one gender dependent on another, break down, the ability to fend for oneself starts to chip away at traditions that had an underlying brutality woven within them. Women tend to keep their independence and will “cheat” when they feel the desire because the ramifications don’t include becoming homeless or ostracized by society at large.

From the article I gathered that one of the reasons women cheat is because they can manage on their own financially. I don’t think I agree.

That was an interesting read. I would think that Sub Africa would have more to worry about then cheating on their spouses. Just my opinion though.

Trying to find the common denominator amongst all of the world’s people seems to be that a certain number of people will have sex beyond the boundaries of their religion or countries. Another certainty is that a certain number of people will lie about it, probably more than the people who truly have extramarital sex.
