The morning after François Mitterrand\’s funeral, a photo showed the late president\’s mistress and illegitimate daughter standing by his grave alongside his wife and sons. That tableau has become famous internationally as proof that the French are uniquely tolerant of extramarital affairs.

In fact, although French presidents seem to have an infidelity record approaching 100 per cent, ordinary Frenchmen claim to be quite faithful. In a 2004 national survey, just 3.8 per cent of married men and 2 per cent of women said they had had more than one sex partner in the past year (the best approximation of infidelity) — fewer than in similar surveys in the U.S. and the U.K.

In a perfect world, everyone would be happily married and cheating would be a thing of the past. In an even better world, cheaters would find themselves hung by their feet in the middle of the town square where villagers could throw rocks at them. At least that\’s the way some people feel. Unfortunately in the real world, people do sometimes stray. Fortunately for those they stray on, there are devices to use to catch a cheating spouse.

One device frequently used to catch a cheating spouse, is a camcorder. Digital video camera can be purchased cheaply now, and some digital camera even come with recording features. Using a digital camera as a device to catch a cheating spouse is fairly easy. All you have to do is set it in a common area where you know your spouse will be, and let it run.

Since man and woman first made commitments to stay with just one person they have also been breaking those commitments causing pain, grief and heartache; Cheaters, affairs and infidelity have always been around. However all throughout history there has never been any definite remedy or solution to this problem. Some couples fare much better than other however with affair actually improving some marriages and some utterly destroying them. So what do you do? What solution can you apply to such a complex and highly charged issue?

To me there are only two options: Forgive or Leave. These are of course incredibly simple one word answers to problems that you may feel deserve more than that but in the end it comes don to these decisions.
