I am surprised that more marriages in the USA don’t end up in divorce.

Our society has created a situation where people really aren’t given enough time to maintain a marriage. The demands of work due to our cost of living, serve to drive wedges between partners.

When both people have to work simply to have a decent house, food, and clothing, you can’t nurture a relationship.

That’s why marriages don’t last. Did you know 50% of marriages in the US leads to separation or divorce?

Having a disability can alter the dynamics significantly. You have to start weighing which is more important..the help or the hurt.

As I see my chronic condition growing worse over the last year, I imagine that my decision would be to stay and enjoy the “help”, and reward myself for tolerating anything that others might consider “hurt”.

Molly, I certainly wouldn’t marry someone I didn’t trust or respect, but people do seem to rush into relationships without really getting to know their partner first. Sadly there is an need for books like this.
