Adultery. What a terrifying word. When one thinks of adultery, one thinks of some soap-opera or a story about a neighbor - rarely does anyone plan to have a cheating spouse in their own home. That is, until one day you fear you’re spouse is cheating on you.

At the start, the realization of an affair is a tiny alarm going off on your internal radar. Your spouses comings and goings start to raise your now heightened awareness. Perhaps he/she has received one too many phone calls at strange hours. Maybe your spouse is exhibiting signs on unexplained joy and it catches your attention. Bottom line is, most betrayed spouses can pinpoint the exact moment when infidelity became a very real reality in their life.

It is quite normal for a human being to be attracted to another person of the opposite sex, other than one’s significant other. What is beyond normal is if one will entertain this attraction. The ratio of men to women is one is to ten. This simply means that there is a thousandth percent chance that the man will dump the girl. Unfair, indeed!

No wonder why there are many cases of infidelity that eventually lead to divorce. Surveys show that there are 12,326,369 women who have filed for a divorce. That is 3,294,269 less than the number of men who have filed for a divorce.

What do these figures mean? It could lead from one reason to another, but one reason could be the infidelity of most men.

There probably should be classes in marriage that we take in school. Until recently, it was taken for granted that building a great marriage should be easy and natural. It is nothing of the kind. Suddenly, when we get married, there are a myriad of things to handle that we never expected.
