IMHO, divorce should never be treated as a celebration. It’s a tragedy no matter how hellish the wedding was.
I can see wanting to take a vacation after going through a divorce but to gear it as a divorce package or special to me is really tacky.
mollyL, funny that you should mention it…. it’s should really be made a “must-have” ritual. Just like casting all those bad spirits away when you move into a new home.
My girlfriends and I had a weekend getaway last week to celebrate one of my girlfriend’s breakup of a long term relationship (10 years plus). We all had such a blast. Mind you, we spent a lot of money and drank a lot of liquor…. but I think it was money worth spent.
tater03, tacky is also getting married in vegas by elvis…. but it’s still a multi-million dollar industry.
I find it great! But a bit too expensive for my taste. Although depending on the settlement, why not spoil yourself? there is always cheaper places, but maybe a little change in air and ambiance is the best for a recent divorce. It helps with the bitterness of the ordeal. But I wouldn’t know… I had a very happy divorce!
