I don’t think a wife is vindictive if she tells the family. If he’s a cheater why hide it? Why protect him? Now, I would question the manner in which it is done, but she shouldn’t have to be secretive. She didn’t do anything wrong. And I think that it is a given that the children shouldn’t be told.

I agree also. The kids should not be involved. It is a matter between the adults, and I think the best point is not waste time with the other person.

I think it is a very helpful list especially point five, don’t waste energy on the other woman. Molly you are absolutely right, don’t involve the kids!

mollyL, that’s right! Kids should never be a pawn in a marital dispute. I think that’s just pitiful how they go about getting the kids involved to find out what the other is doing. That’s so petty and immature.

When it is time to tell the kids, then I agree…. but not when it is absolutely necessary.

This is one of the most practical lists I’ve read on the subject.May I add a number six? Don’t tell your kids. Leave them completely out of it. This is their dad you’re talking about, ladies, and you have no business confronting your children about it.

mollyL, I really don’t understand why women become so vindictive instead of trying to work on what went wrong instead.

I have girlfriends like that too and instead of feeling sorry for them, I feel that he got away for the better.

I would like to emphasize #2, don’t tell the world about the affair. I had a friend who found out her husband was cheating on her, and the first thing she did was tell all of her family, and everyone in his family as well. She even called and told his 80 year old grandmother. This didn’t garner alot of long-lasting sympathy for her; actually it made her look very vindictive, especially telling his grandmother.
