SageMother, that's true. Maybe not all will apply, but I think every man will have reason to wonder if they are checking off more than two on a list.

And sadly in real life it is often the children who are caught in the cross fire between the parents. Whatever happens both partners should try to put the needs of the children first.

I found the item about arguments interesting.

I guess a fellow who had been living with a shrew, or a woman who had married Attila the Hun's younger brother, would wish they hadn't complained so much about the arguments!

That is a good list, but it is a starting point, when you know your partner (male or female) you pick up on the most subtle changes that they may not even be aware of. As Hosea says those tiny subliminal hints leave you with a feeling inside that something is wrong.

Hmmm .... I know I have usually been able to tell when my wife has started a new affair. Once I was out of the country on a business trip when it happened, and I could tell something was afoot based on her e-mails to me when I was just keeping in touch with the family. But I don't know if these are the cues that I used. It has always been just a sense I've had ... so I must have been picking up on *some* kind of clue, but I'm not sure what it was.

I don't think those situations are always the result of a cheating wife. I think men should talk and see what happens before getting to conclusions.

Since women's roles have changed, any one of these clues could be due to situations that may not be cheating.

The kids clue is a true one, not necessarily limited in a woman's case. Depending on the age of the kid, they may even spill the beans, lol.

That is a perceptive point about alot of husbands not even wanting to find out if his wife is cheating or not. In our culture, a wife is so intertwined with her husband, extremely involved in his life, even being his "mommy" at times of great stress or sadness. The clues would have to be so gratuitous for many husbands to even want to think about suspecting infidelity.
