Some people are acomplished liars, but I think you should take body language into account along with many other factors. Usually some aspect of their behaviour will let them down.

There are some people that can look you straight in the eye and tell you the biggest whopper of a lie, though. lol.

Maybe body language could be used as points of conversation.

Asking a spouse if they are uncomfortable, because of their body language, opens an opportunity to discuss some uncomfortable issues.

This wouldn’t be passing judgment, but using it as a tool for deeper understanding.

SageMother, I agree with you…. in this case, I think “body language” is being mistaken for “action” (as in action speaks louder than words).

I think body language just leaves too much to be interpreted the wrong way.

I think you really have to know the person to actually find that they are not telling the truth! I’ve seen it and sometimes it’s been easy but most of the time has been hard to me to see if they are telling the truth or not.

justontime, I’m sure that your son is also quite adjusted.

I think this really more applies to people who have something to hide and their spouses are catching on that something is just not right.

I have seen body language used in other situations. Because I avoid using shortcuts as much as possible, I am not sure if the language was interpreted the “right” way by the lady using it.

It just seemed that it really kept her from listening to the words being spoken.

I could use that knowledge for future reference, I am not implying that my husband is always lieing to me but it would be useful info.
